Resembling in shape the aviary, which gave the work its title, the installation (…) is visible through the gallery’s expansive window. The semi-transparent film hugging the entire irregular openwork frame does not give the impression of a solid wall, but is, nonetheless, substantial enough for there to be partial shade on the interior of the construction. Just like a traditional Japanese room, there is more of an outline, or a notion of a space than a separate room.
